Cherry blossoms blooming

My favorite time of the year around here! (well, one of many!) The cherry blossoms bloom earlier here than in other parts of the country ~ it's such a special treat to see them in full blossom right now! Thanks to all of the luscious rain we've been getting, they are gorgeous, glowing, and so, so pretty. Me = huge fan of pink and red, but especially little pink and red flowers on trees all over the city :-)

I'm continuing to learn so much from my students. So much about my own approach to the world, my own hesitations, my own walls and blocks. I'll think one thing going into a class, and that thought will have transformed into something completely opposite by the end. And then I can take this transformative mindset and bring it to my own practice - treating myself like I would treat my students - and the healing that happens from creating love within is miraculous. My guides are with me the whole way, reminding me that I can do anything - reminding me that it's through teaching that I learn, and that it's through learning that I can teach. Can't have one without the other!

My private who had knee trouble is healing well and stoked to be back in yoga. I had five beautiful sorority girls from Cal in my class at HYP today ~ watching them put effort into the poses and then glow afterwards was a really neat thing. Getting beyond their outer beauty and helping them to connect to their inner selves - so rewarding.

And my 6AM class in Fremont, well, let's just say I continue to be amazed that people even show up! But especially one man who had his first class ever with me in January and has come to every class since - so cool. I must be doing something right there - they just hired me on for another class! Power Yoga (yippee!) on Tuesday evenings, starting March 4th. I say yippee, because as great of an experience it's been teaching beginner and Level 1 classes, I'm ready to step it up a notch and teach the way I practice. So, they're gonna sweat! And stretch, and glide, and clear their minds, and ideally be gooey blobs by 7PM.

My two writing classes are kicking my butt right now ~ as long as I keep in mind the things I'm learning from my students, as long as I remember the amazing power of my brain when it's connected to my heart, all will continue to be well and I will make it through with flying colors - ideally, pink and red.
